At Pearl of Africa Tours, we are passionate about showcasing the incredible beauty and diversity of Uganda. We believe that travel should be more than just a vacation; it should be an enriching experience that connects you with the local culture, wildlife, and landscapes. Here are just a few reasons why you should choose us for your Ugandan adventure:
The best time to visit Uganda depends on your interests. The dry seasons (June to August and December to February) are ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals congregate around water sources. The shoulder seasons (March to May and September to November) offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds. Birdwatchers may prefer the rainy seasons, when migratory birds are present.
We recommend packing lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors. You should also bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a good pair of walking shoes or hiking boots. If you plan to visit the mountains or highlands, pack warm layers, as temperatures can be cool, especially at night.
Most nationalities require a visa to enter Uganda. You can apply for a visa online through the official Uganda Electronic Visa Application System. Alternatively, you can obtain a visa upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. However, we recommend applying online in advance to avoid long queues.
It is recommended that you consult your doctor or a travel clinic for the most up-to-date information on vaccinations for Uganda. Generally, it is recommended to have vaccinations for yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A, and polio. Malaria prophylaxis is also highly recommended.
The currency used in Uganda is the Ugandan Shilling (UGX). US dollars are widely accepted, especially for tourism-related expenses. Credit cards are accepted at some hotels and restaurants in major cities, but it is advisable to carry cash for smaller establishments and rural areas.
Pearl of Africa Tours is deeply committed to responsible and sustainable tourism practices. We believe that tourism should benefit both the traveler and the local communities, while also protecting the environment for future generations. We work closely with local communities to ensure that our tours have a positive impact, providing economic opportunities and supporting cultural preservation. We also partner with eco-friendly lodges and transportation providers to minimize our carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices.
